How to Buy Pokemon Cards Online

Buying Pokemon cards online is the easiest way to find specific cards for your collection or investment. TTMCards connects you with verified sellers across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany — with secure payments and buyer protection on every order.

Finding cards

There are several ways to find cards on TTMCards:

  • Search by name — use the search bar to find specific Pokemon (e.g. “Charizard”, “Pikachu VMAX”)
  • Browse by set — explore all cards in a specific set via our set browser
  • Browse listings — filter by condition, grading, price range on the buy page
  • Wants list— add cards you are looking for and get notified when they become available

Understanding card condition

Card condition directly affects price. On TTMCards, sellers categorize their cards into four condition levels:

Mint / Near Mint

Virtually flawless. The card looks like it just came out of the pack. Minimal to no wear on edges, corners, or surface.

Lightly Played

Minor wear visible on close inspection. Slight edge whitening or minor corner wear. Still looks great in a binder.

Moderately Played

Noticeable wear including edge whitening, corner rounding, or light scratches. Good for collecting, not for grading.

Heavily Played

Significant wear, creases, or damage. Usually bought for completing a collection or casual play.

For graded cards, the grade number (1-10) tells you the exact condition as evaluated by a professional grading company. See our grading guide for details.

Checking prices

Every card detail page on TTMCards shows Cardmarket market data including:

  • Trend price— the current market trend based on recent sales
  • Average sell price — what the card has been selling for on average
  • Low price— the lowest available price on the market

Compare listing prices against these benchmarks to make sure you are getting a fair deal. Check our pricing guide for more on card valuation.

Spotting counterfeits

  • Check the back — authentic Pokemon cards have a consistent blue back with the Poke Ball design. Fakes often have slightly different colors or patterns.
  • Feel the texture — real cards have a specific weight and texture. Counterfeits often feel thinner or glossier.
  • Light test— hold the card up to a light. Real cards have an opaque black layer in the middle that blocks light. Fakes often let light through.
  • Buy graded— the safest option is buying cards graded by PSA, BGS, or CGC. Grading companies verify authenticity.
